Members of the Campus Community:
The following press release has been issued by PASSHE Board of Governors Chair Guido Pichini and Chancellor John Cavanaugh. Please review their comments on Governor Corbett’s proposed budget for Pennsylvania.
What does the mean for [ahvahtlom’s university]? To bring this close to home, if the Governor’s proposed reduction stands, [ahvahtlom’s university] state allocation would fall from $28,974,483 in 2010-11 to $19,605,908 in 2012-13. In October 2011, [ahvahtlom’s university] was scheduled to receive $26.4 million in capital improvements over the next five years, today we anticipate only $3.4 million.
Through all of this, we remain committed to student success as our #1 goal. We have made changes over the past year and continue our efforts to assure that we provide all students with the opportunity for a quality education.

-email from the interim President of my university Seriously, Corbett? Dropping our support from almost 30K to one-tenth of that? Do you even realize the dropout rate is going to skyrocket due to the equally skyrocketing tuition?! |
